It was Brooke's birthday yesterday, and I thought I'd attempt a croquembouche, the kind of cake we had at our wedding.
It was my first time attempting one of these, and there were a few mishaps along the way.. The worst was not being able to get the caramel quite right, so the cake wouldn't stand on its own.... But we had a delicious pile of cream puffs!
Question of the Day
What song was the number one song on the charts the day you were born? How about the day you turned 21? What do you think about the song?

I would prefer a more happy holiday, but I guess I get Labor Day every couple of years. The only other problem with my birthday is it was always right around (or the actual) first day of school.
