We'd been planning to wallpaper our dining room since the remodel, but hadn't ever gotten around to it. Then, last week, Brooke had a new idea: Stripes.
A few days of masking and painting later, voila! I think it looks pretty awesome.

This was a couple days ago.. Since then, they've ripped all of that out, and already put in half of the new floor/structure (still no walls though). It amazes me that they've done what seems like so much in a week, but they won't be done until february!
Like Brooke said, tuesday is the start of our big kitchen remodel. It'll be around 4 months of work, including about a month where the entire back of our house is ripped off.
It'll be great when it's done, but in the meantime, we have a living room full of appliances and dining room furniture (and another dining table may be on the way!) and our entryway is a makeshift kitchen with a fridge, microwave, coffeemaker and cabinet. It was easy getting the cabinet: none of the kitchen cabinetry was secured to the wall, and none of the countertops were secured to the cabinets!!
The hardest part may be working above all the noise and commotion. Luckily I have my laptop and victrola, bauhaus, and zoka (coffee shops with good wi-fi and better coffee) to frequent.
